There are stories like this that make me think:

1) This is part of the reason why people are afraid to fly.
2) This is a big chunk of the reason why I have issues with capitalism.

Haven't seen the film; however, I do hope that pilots are not the only ones they discuss. Flight attendants make even less and suffer the same consequences. While some may say they are merely 'waitresses in the sky' (Replacements, circa late 80's), I say who else would willingly deal with us passengers? In our privileged flying lives we have grown to have in flight expectations, personal space issues, and sometimes a complete lack of acceptance that other people exist and share our space. I'm just sayin'Michael Moore...don't throw the baby out without the bath water.

The More Things Change...

Two Saturdays ago, I attended my high school reunion celebrating twenty years since graduation. I initially had reservations about going at first, but I wanted to see my how my high school classmates evolved (and I to them) over the last twenty years; vain curiosity trumped everything else. A little background first: I did not enjoy high school very much. I did not have the clichéd experience some people believe high school to be (on either end of the spectrum). My days in high school were dollops of “good”, heaping tablespoons of “bad”, all on top of a wide base of “meh”. With that in mind, I decided to leave most of my high school experiences (and the people involved) in the past and moved on. This worked for nineteen years until technology and web-based social networking rendered my efforts moot. As for the reunion itself, it had a much smaller number of people I had expected.
