Hamster Wheel of the Day

For some time now, there has been a constant refrain from some of my fellow Americans (strangers and acquaintances alike) who want to "Take our country back". I would like to ask a question to those who agree with that sentiment; from whom are we taking our country back?

If you choose to answer keep these things in mind: be polite, be thoughtful, and be able to support your responses.

I would dearly love to take back our country from the TOP 15% of our wealthy Corporate CEO's and their friends known as Lobbyists.

The love of Money has corrupted all of our so called Democracies throughout the world.

Votes are typically bought and sold through the lobbyists and the Politicians who cast these checks.

In my humble opinion we should start by changing the rules of the Senate where by 41% of the representatives can stop change wanted by 59% of the constituents.

After that we should defeat any Politician who does not vote the way the majority of his/her constituents wanted.

Candidates now are taught to give bald faced lies...... They know that we simpletons will forgive them their lies by rationalizing the lies with this comment !

The More Things Change...

Two Saturdays ago, I attended my high school reunion celebrating twenty years since graduation. I initially had reservations about going at first, but I wanted to see my how my high school classmates evolved (and I to them) over the last twenty years; vain curiosity trumped everything else. A little background first: I did not enjoy high school very much. I did not have the clichéd experience some people believe high school to be (on either end of the spectrum). My days in high school were dollops of “good”, heaping tablespoons of “bad”, all on top of a wide base of “meh”. With that in mind, I decided to leave most of my high school experiences (and the people involved) in the past and moved on. This worked for nineteen years until technology and web-based social networking rendered my efforts moot. As for the reunion itself, it had a much smaller number of people I had expected.
